Magnetometer

The G-856 AX magnetometer from GEOMETRICS Inc. It is a Proton Precession magnetometer with a resolution of 0.1 nT and accuracy of 0.5 nT. Its internal memory can save up to 5000 readings in the field and 12.500 readings as base station(regular intervals)

It can be also employed as gradiometer, which will enhance performance to characterize shallow structures. Employed in this mode it also saves some external corrections.

Data collection is very easy requiring a single key stroke operation. Regular interval time measures are possible to measure diurnal variations of the magnetic field, for instance, in a base station.

Processing can be firstly done with the free software MAGMAP 2000 for data transfer and editing. Further treatment and analysis can be performed with MAGPICK MAGNETICS SOFTWARE or with OASIS MONTAJ.
